Enabling Remote Method Invocations in Peer-to-Peer Environments: RMIX over JXTA
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, we present a peer-to-peer (P2P) system with remote method invocations, combining RMIX and JXTA technologies, and underpinning the H2O distributed resource sharing platform. We show that the integration of RMIX and JXTA was possible due to extensibility of the former, which allowed to plug in the JXTA-based socket implementations. The result of this integration is a fully operational RMI implementation running on top of the JXTA P2P network, where methods can be invoked on remote objects located behind firewalls or NATs. We present results of tests showing that our implementation can be used to connect peers in different LANs that cannot interact directly, while in the case of direct connection the performance is comparable to that of RMI using standard sockets.

A System for Distributed Computing Based on H2O and JXTA
The main goal of this work is to build a uniform global computational network using H2O distributed computing framework and JXTA P2P technology. This computational network will give users new possibilities in building and utilizing of distributed computing systems, namely H2O kernels behind firewalls will be accessible and group management in JXTA will bring us possibility of creating virtual g...
متن کاملPeer-to-Peer computing with H2O and JXTA
H2O is Java-based, component-oriented, lightweight resource sharing platform for metacomputing. It allows deployment of services into container not only by container owners, but by any authorized clients or third parties. As a communication mechanism, H2O uses RMIX that is interoperable and extensible communication library. JXTA technology is a set of open protocols that allows any connected de...
متن کاملEnabling Peer to Peer Grids
In this paper we propose a peer-to-peer (P2P) grid comprising resources such as relatively static clients, high-end resources and a dynamic collection of multiple P2P subsystems. We investigate the architecture of the messaging and event service that will support such a hybrid environment. We designed a distributed publish-subscribe system NaradaBrokering for XML specified messages. NaradaBroke...
متن کاملDynamic Integration of Peer-to-Peer Services into a CORBA-Compliant Middleware
Peer-to-Peer computing has evolved over the last few years and is applied to a rising number of applications. Following this development we present a decentralised approach to dynamically select, load and integrate locally not available peer-to-peer based services into a CORBA-compliant middleware. This is achieved by extending and improving the mechanisms for dynamic service integration of JXT...
متن کاملXML-based security for JXTA core protocols
JXTA defines a set of six core protocols specifically suited for ad hoc, pervasive, multi-hop, peer-to-peer (P2P) computing. These protocols allow peers to cooperate and form autonomous peer groups. This paper presents a satisfactory method that provides security services to the core protocols: privacy, authenticity, integrity and nonrepudiation. The presented mechanisms are fully distributed a...
